Cookie Policy
How TundraMountain uses browser storage and what you can control. Last updated: May 28, 2026.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the website to remember information between visits — such as your preferences or login state. TundraMountain primarily uses browser localStorage (a similar technology that stores key-value pairs in your browser) rather than traditional HTTP cookies. The distinction matters primarily for technical purposes; in practice, both store information locally on your device.
We have designed TundraMountain to function without requiring tracking cookies. The platform does not place advertising cookies, does not use retargeting pixels, and does not participate in cross-site tracking networks of any kind.
2. Essential Storage (Always Active)
The following localStorage entries are strictly necessary for the platform to function as intended. They do not require your consent and cannot be disabled without breaking the platform experience:
- owAge18 — records that you confirmed you are 18 or older, so the age gate does not reappear on subsequent pages or visits. Value: "1" or absent.
- owCookies — records your cookie preference selection ("all" or "essential"), so the consent banner does not reappear. Value: "all" or "essential" or absent.
- owHoldsLeft / owHoldsReset — records how many Hold sessions you have used today and when to reset that counter. This is game state — no personal data is stored. Values: numeric string and date string.
None of these entries are transmitted to our servers. They exist solely in your local browser environment. Clearing your browser data removes them entirely.
3. Optional Analytics Storage
If you click "Accept All" on the cookie banner, we may activate lightweight anonymised analytics. This may involve a session cookie set by our analytics provider to count unique page visits. No personally identifiable information is collected, no cross-site tracking occurs, and the data is aggregated at the province level only. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser localStorage.
Analytics data helps us understand which pages are most visited and improve the platform design. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
4. Third-Party Resources
TundraMountain loads resources from two external CDNs: Google Fonts (for typography) and jsDelivr (for Bootstrap CSS). When your browser fetches these files, the CDN provider may log the request per their own terms. These are standard web-delivery network requests; no personal data from TundraMountain is shared with these providers. We do not control their cookie or logging practices.
The Google Fonts API is used with display=swap to minimise layout shift. The Bootstrap CSS is loaded from jsDelivr with Subresource Integrity (SRI) verification — confirming the file has not been tampered with in transit.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You can remove all TundraMountain storage entries at any time by:
- Opening your browser's developer tools and clearing the localStorage for this domain.
- Using your browser's "Clear browsing data" or equivalent function and selecting "Cookies and site data" (which also clears localStorage).
- Using your browser's privacy or incognito mode, where localStorage is cleared at the end of each session.
Removing our essential storage will cause the age gate and cookie banner to reappear on your next visit, and your daily hold-session count will reset. There is no other impact on platform functionality.
6. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy if our use of storage technologies changes. The revision date at the top reflects the most recent update. Continued use of TundraMountain after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
